Oman Air receives Four Star rating from APEX
Date: 30th of Oct 2019 Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has received a Four Star rating in the Major Airline category; the award, presented recently by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) at their Passenger Choice Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, was given to less than 10 per cent of the world’s airlines.
Oman Air concludes successful workshops on IATA NDC (New Distribution Capability)
Date: 17 of July 2019 Close on the heels of achieving its IATA NDC (New Distribution Capability) Level 4 certification, Oman Air conducted successful workshops on the same, for its travel agents in Muscat and Salalah. NDC is the modernization of a 40-year old data exchange standard for ticket distribution developed before the Internet was invented.

Oman Air starts new services to Alexandria, Egypt
First flight on 31st May MUSCAT Oman Air commences direct flights to Egyptian city Alexandria from 31st May 2019, the airline’s 53rd destination in its expanding global network. Alexandria, Egypt’s second-largest city, is a major economic and industrial centre of the country. With its 30 km coastline extending along the Mediterranean Sea, coupled with its magnificent ambience and rich cultural heritage, Alexandria is also a popular tourist destination.
Oman Air launches new service to Athens
2nd of June 2019 Oman Air, the National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman has commenced its new daily direct service between Greece and Oman, with the first flight departing Muscat International Airport to Athens International Airport on 1st June 2019.
Tanzania imposes plastic ban on tourists
Date: 27 May 2019 MUSCAT Oman Air, the National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman issues a travel advisory to its guests flying to its Tanzanian destinations of Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar in the wake of the Tanzanian government’s ban on plastic, from 1st June onwards. All travelllers flying to these destinations are informed of the ban on plastic by the Tanzanian government.
