Oman Air welcomed representatives of several Arab airlines in Muscat as it hosted a vital meeting on aviation emergency response planning. The meeting of the Emergency Response Planning Steering Board of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) took place at the Holiday Inn Seeb Hotel on 2nd and 3rd March.
In his opening address, Captain Waheed Khalfan Al Subhi, Senior Manager Safety and Emergency Response Planning at Oman Air, thanked AACO for choosing the Sultanate of Oman for this important meeting. He further assured delegates of Oman Air's full support to AACO in its vital efforts to support the work of its members.
Following his address, Captain Waheed commented:
"Oman Air as the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, Emergency Response Planning is one of the most important areas of work for us, as it is for every AACO member. We will continue to offer our full support and assistance to the region's airlines as per our mutual cooperation agreement.
"I would like to welcome all those who are attending this crucial meeting and further like to thank AACO for organizing the event."
AACO Emergency Response Planning Steering Board comprises the emergency response specialists of 11 AACO member airlines. It provides a forum for discussing ways and means to improve Standard Operating Procedures. It also aims to enhance mutual cooperation and support between those airlines to give a concerted response should a crisis situation arise.
Participating airlines in the meeting included Afriqiyah Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, Gulf Air, and Oman Air.
