The Sultanate’s leading travel and tourism show – Oman Travel Mart (OTM) is backed y Oman Air as the main sponsor. Showcasing a wide range of unique products and services, OTM will take place from 17th to 19th May at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.
OTM offers unparalleled opportunities for inbound and outbound tourism to promote quality service to the industry’s top-tier professionals. Peter Hill, Oman Air’s Chief Executive Officer said “Oman Air supports this event with the objective of seizing the valuable opportunity to promote our summer holidays designed to attract more holidaymakers from the GCC, European and Asian countries to Oman. We also take OTM as a platform to promote our recently launched destinations. Oman Air’s new routes will significantly extend the choice for customers”.
Providing tangible quality of services, Oman Air is continuously working closely with the Ministry of Tourism and hotels in Muscat to put together special packages and marketing campaigns to boost traffic during off-peak times – weekends and the summer months – as well as targeting niche groups such as honeymooners, sports enthusiasts, and adventure tourists. Among the campaigns that are currently running is “NOW IS THE TIME”, which offers special summer deals for Europeans including high quality, week-long accommodation and return flight packages to the Sultanate, over the summer months. 12,000 seats are on offer,” Hill said.
The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman is pursuing an ambitious expansion programme in line with the country’s dynamic growth plans, where huge infrastructure development projects are underway. Oman Air has already launched its new business and first class products that are superior to those in its competitive set – a strategy that adheres to the Oman Ministry of Tourism’s objective to attract the high-end leisure market.
On showcase during this event will be the Airline's new summer destinations including Kuala Lumpur, Ras Al Khaima, Al Ain, Lahore, Islamabad, Dar Es Salam and Kathmandu, as well as Milan, which will be added during the winter schedule, thus bringing the total number of Oman Air destinations to 40.
The tourism and travel sector in the country has witnessed significant growth. Over the recent years, Oman is getting international attention. This is well attributed to the joint efforts between the Government under the Ministry of Tourism and Oman Air. The combined marketing efforts done through road shows and participation in international and regional exhibitions have indeed boosted the country’s tourism sector, making the Sultanate as a global tourist attraction.
Finally, the recent milestone achievement by Oman Air, when it became the first airline in the world to offer both mobile phone services and internet Wi-Fi access on board its fleet, will also prominently feature at OTM.
Visitors at OTM will have more up close and personal experience with Oman Air services such as the luxury cabin product of the new Airbus wide-body fleet, Oman Air Stopovers, which are attractive short-stay hotel packages available from all over the Oman Air Network, irrespective of the class of travel, amongst others.
