Commenting on this scheme, Abdulrazaq bin Juma Alraisi, Senior Manager Sales said, the national carrier of Oman granted special discount of up to 25% on applicable market fares to the Omani students studying in the colleges and universities. This initiative reflects the national carrier's keenness to activate and support its distinguished role to serve the nation and the citizen. Also, this will positively contribute in alleviating costs of tickets incurred by the students. The offer will include all routes and destinations in Oman Air ever growing network.
Alraisi added, the national carrier used to grant these discounts on domestic flights on Salalah and Khasab sectors, however and due to the continued increase of the Omani students studying abroad, the management decided that discounts should cover all routes without exception.
Senior Manager Sales concluded: “this discount will be applicable to the students who are regularly enrolled in the colleges and universities and do not exceed 26 years of age. To take advantage of this offer, the student should present his/her student ID card to the reservation and ticketing staff at the time of booking in any of Oman Air’s offices. Also, original student ID card should be presented at the time of departure along with the other required travel documents.
It is noteworthy that Oman Air flights are reaching to 25 destinations, 10 in the Middle East: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Beirut, Cairo and Amman, and 10 in the Indian subcontinent: New Delhi , Mumbai, Kochi, Madras, Travndram, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Karachi, Chittagong, and London in Europe and Bangkok in the Far East, in addition to 3 internal in Muscat, Salalah and Khasab. The company's management plans to fly to more global destinations in 2008.
