Oman Air to Add More Flights to Salalah En Route To Boosting Tourism

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has announced additional 4 weekly flights to Salalah, to deal with the increasing demand. This will increase MCT-SLL-MCT frequencies from 28 to 32 per week.

The new additional flights will operate during August, starting from 05 August until 29 August as follows:


Muscat - Salalah
Saturday, Sunday, Monday WY5507 1420-1550
Tuesday WY5505 1100-1230
Salalah - Muscat
Saturday, Sunday, Monday WY5508 1650-1820
Tuesday WY5506 1330-1500
Boeing 737-800

 Mr. Ziad Bin Karim Al Haremi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air said "Dhofar during Khareef is an attractive tourist destination thanks to its mesmerizing climate, cultural heritage and distinctive natural beauty. It is becoming more and more popular with locals and tourists".

"These additional four new flights would provide a "major tourism boost" in a move that is expected to entice tourists to the area. This will bring over more visitors to Salalah, and will consequently contribute to the tourism drive in Oman further" he added.

Al Haremi concluded saying: "The initiative is part of our commitment to offer customers even more frequent and affordable travel options during the summer. Oman Air offers tremendous opportunities to travelers, making air travel more convenient, while providing the best services in the market with a strong focus on quality".

It is worth mentioning that Oman Air the official carrier to Salalah Khareef Festival, is also operating 4 weekly frequencies from Dubai, besides a direct one weekly flight from Kuwait.
