Oman Air, the national airline of the Sultanate of Oman, has declared its participation as Lead Sponsor of JOBEX 2014 to be a great success. The annual event, held at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Muscat, is one of the Gulf region's leading recruitment and career guidance forums and is held under the auspices of the Oman Ministry of Manpower.
The event provided an ideal platform for individuals from throughout Oman interested in current vacancies, career options and training programmes offered by some of the biggest industry players within the region.
Held in parallel with JOBEX are the Global Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) and the Training Exhibition (TRAINEX), both of which provide school and college graduates with information and advice about the opportunities open to them within higher education and the job market.
Oman Air's support to the event underlined the airline's continuing commitment to providing careers and training for Omani nationals.
Dr Rashid Al Ghailani, Chief Officer, Human Resources at Oman Air said:
"Oman Air is proud to have been the Lead Sponsor of JOBEX 2014, during which we offered advice and guidance to visitors about the range of career options and training programmes we offer at Oman Air. As a result, we hope to make a number of appointments in the near future.
"Oman Air is committed to maximising employment opportunities for young Omanis, and we believe that new graduates, who have just a few years of work experience, are one of the Sultanate's most valuable resource. We offer the highest standards of training, for which our Training and Development Centre has been recognized by IATA, and promotion and career development opportunities are excellent. As a result, around two thirds of our workforce now comprises Omani citizens, who now occupy key positions at every level of Oman Air."
Oman Air is one of the Sultanate's leading employers and has gained international recognition over recent years for the quality of its products and services. With an expanding fleet, growing network and an enviable reputation for outstanding hospitality, choice and punctuality, the airline is acknowledged as a major business presence in Oman. Furthermore, the dedication and commitment of its strong, well-trained workforce have made a major contribution to Oman Air's distinct identity and powerful customer base.
Further recruitment of Omani citizens is likely in the short term, as Oman Air expands following the introduction from later this year of the 20 new aircraft that the airline currently has on order.
