Oman Air Wins Best Business Class Seat at World Airline Awards

Oman Air was named winner of the World's Best Business Class Airline Seat award at the 2011 World Airline Awards, in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.
The runners-up in this Best Business Class Airline Seat category are Singapore Airlines taking 2nd place in the category, ahead of Qatar Airways in 3rd position. The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman was presented with the Best Business Class Seat award at a ceremony attended by more than 50 airlines.
The awards are based on the views of nearly 20 million air passengers, who were surveyed by Skytrax over the last year.

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has announced that it is to sponsor the England-to-Australia flight currently being undertaken by disabled microlight pilot Dave Sykes.
Dave left York, England, on 28th April in a P&M Aviation Quik microlight aircraft and his journey will mark the 80th Anniversary of Amy Johnson's first-ever flight between the two countries. It will cover a distance of 21,809 kilometres and will take in 20 countries, including Muscat the capital city Oman, who Dave landed in on 28th May.
The epic journey will also raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, a British charity which provides emergency services to remote and inaccessible areas in the north of England.

The Oman Air – Emergency Response & Planning (ERP) Department conducted the 3rd 'Emergency Response Planning Outstation Workshop' recently. This workshop was attended by 75 Oman Air employees, who came to Muscat from GCC and Middle East, Far East, Africa, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Milan.
The previous two Workshops conducted during 2010 were in London-Bracknell, in the UK, for Oman Air's regional staff in Europe and another one in Mumbai, India for the Oman Air staff in the Indian Stations.

Oman Air, the National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, re-commenced its services between Muscat and Zanzibar from “16th May 2011”. Flights will operate NON-STOP between Muscat and Zanzibar three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturday. Zanzibar represents the third destination in Africa and second in Tanzania on the Oman Air growing network.
