Oman Air moves crew operations to a swanky new facility

Date: 28 November 2018   Oman Air, the National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has officially opened a new state-of-the-art Crew Reporting Centre at its hub in Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman. The purpose-built crew terminal, is one of the most advanced of its kind in the region, and is fitted with cutting-edge baggage handling systems, electronic check-in kiosks and security and customs scanning equipment.

The second three-class configuration 787-9 joins Oman Air Fleet

Date: 05 November 2018   Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has taken delivery of its second 3-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that it has on order. This comes at a time when the airline is continuing its trajectory of rapid growth and expansion. Oman Air expects to receive the third 787-9 Dreamliner in December this year.

Oman Air launches new service to Moscow

Date: 30 October 2018   Oman Air, the National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman has commenced its new daily direct service between Russia and Oman, with its first flight departing Muscat International Airport to Moscow Domodedovo Airport on 30th October.

Oman adopts electronic airway bill (e-AWB) standard

Date: 02 October 2018   In-line with the Government plans to implement international best practices in business, Oman has adopted the International Air Transport Association’s electronic airway bill (e-AWB) standard in replacement of the paper airway bill - the contract of carriage for international airfreight shipments.

Oman Air Passes IATA Safety Audit

A new 737 MAX joins Oman Air Fleet

Date: 10 October 2018   Oman Air has celebrated the delivery of its fifth of 30 Boeing 737 MAX 8s it has on order. This comes at a time when the airline is continuing its trajectory of rapid growth and expansion. Meanwhile, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman is expected to receive a total of 9 more 737 MAX 8s next year.

Oman Air launches a WhatsApp Service

Date: 09 October 2018   Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has introduced a new WhatsApp service which enables its guests to communicate instantly with airline staff via the popular messaging app. Clients who opt for this service can now receive their booking confirmations, check-in notifications, boarding passes, flight status updates in addition to other requested information, directly through the messaging app.

Oman Air relaunches flights to the Maldives

Date: 28 October 2018   Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, resumed its service between Muscat and Malé in the Maldives on 28th October. The service is operated by the new B737 –MAX 8 aircraft. Oman Air flights from Muscat to Maldives will operate on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and the flights from Maldives to Muscat will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
