Oman Air Inaugurates Services to Bahrain Oman Air is pleased to announce the inauguration of its first scheduled flight to Bahrain, the “Pearl of the Arabian Gulf” on 12/4/2004. This will increase the number of Oman Air destinations to 20, since the launch of the first Oman Air flight to Salalah on 15/3/1993. The Omani Khanjar, the emblem of the company, will fly to Bahrain on 5 days of the week, Saturdays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in accordance with the following schedule:   Flight No. From To Departure Arrival WY 657 MCT BAH 18.20 18.50 WY 658 BAH DOH 19.40 20.25 WY 658 DOH MCT 21.15 23.30   On this historical occasion, H.E Said bin Hamdoon Al Harthi, Chairman of Oman Air’s Board of Directors said, the inauguration of this sector is in line with Oman Air’s plans to connect Oman with major cities in the gulf area, making it an important hub for air traffic in the Middle East. H.E also praised the important role played by Oman Air in stimulating the Omani economy, increasing its network and promoting tourism to the Sultanate. Mr. Abdul Rahman bin Harith Al Busaidy, Oman Air’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed his appreciation of the Civil Aviation Authorities of both Oman and Bahrain for supporting the operation and further strengthening the relationship between the two countries. He added that Oman Air has witnessed steady growth in the last decade and has emerged as a niche carrier with friendly, high quality services, high on time performance and Omani hospitality that is unique to the Sultanate.
