The First Lot Of Fly Free To London Winners Announced

The first draw of the "Fly free to London" campaign was held at the Oman Air Head office. The Chief Guest for the occasion was HE Mohammed bin Hamoud Al Toobi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism.

The Fly free to London campaign was launched on the 16 September and will last up to the 15 December 2008. Bringing desires to reality, the airline now offers an opportunity for the Muscat Residents to fly to London for free. The campaign open to the residents of Oman, is simple to take part in. One only has to log onto the Oman Air website (www.omanair.aero) and click on the Special Offers section which has the 'fly free to London' campaign. By taking part in a survey which is a set of questions about the various services offered by Oman Air, including airport services, the participants get a chance to win free tickets to London, through a raffle draw. The survey can be taken in English or Arabic. After this first draw, six winners were drawn from the raffle, there will be 12 more free air tickets (economy class) to Muscat-London-Muscat up for grabs through this campaign. The campaign was designed as a tool to create better web awareness to the public.

Speaking on the occasion, HE Mohammed Al Toobi congratulated the winners while appreciating the unique efforts of Oman Air in promoting its destinations, also lauded the national carrier’s endeavor in upholding the image of Oman as an ideal and safe holiday destination. "Oman Air and the Ministry of Tourism have partnered many events promoting the country. The combined synergies of our attempts have borne great results," Al Toobi said. An important upcoming event that is spearheaded jointly by the Ministry of Tourism and Oman Air is the marketing campaign scheduled to start in London, during November. The six-month long campaign will build awareness about Oman as a choice destination for tourism, investment and business promotions in the Middle-East. The Fly Free to London promotion and the marketing campaign in London are timed in such a way to create maximum marketing impact and awareness.

Corporate Communications and Media of Oman Air announced that the completed surveys by partakers will be electronically captured and winners will be drawn out randomly for the remaining free tickets. Two more lucky draws will determine the winners of the remaining 12 tickets. Fortunate ones will be informed through their given email addresses.
