B737 NG Fleet
Oman Air is the first airline in the Gulf region to introduce the new state-of-the-art Boeing 737 NG aircraft series.
In order to give customers the best in new technology, comfort on-board and reliability Oman Air has replaced the entire jet fleet with these new aircraft.
Currently, Oman Air operates 11 of these new aircraft, consisting of 2 B737-700 models, and 9 B737-800 models. With the First B737 NG having joined the Oman Air fleet in December 2001 and the most recent aircraft will be delivered in December 2008, Oman Air can boast one of the newest jet fleets.
The B737 series aircraft are the best selling aircraft in commercial aviation history. The B737 NG flies higher, farther, faster and more efficiently than any other airplane in its class.
With extremely high reliability, easy maintenance and operations, the B737NG is ideally suited for a regional airline such as Oman Air. These features allow customers on Oman Air to enjoy excellent reliability and on time operations and comfort on board. Oman Air B737NG aircraft have onboard three washrooms, two galleys and an in-flight entertainment system allowing the customer a choice of video or audio entertainment, as well as a navigational map display to monitor flight progress.
ATR Turbo-Prop Fleet
Oman Air also operates a fleet of 4 ATR42-500 aircraft. These 46 seat aircraft are used mainly for private oil field operations throughout Oman, and are also used on scheduled flight services between Muscat and Khasab on the Musandam peninsula.
These modern turbo-prop aircraft first joined the Oman Air fleet in 1998, and have progressively replaced all older commuter aircraft in the fleet.
