User Development Fee of Rs 575 at Trivandrum Airport Effective 1st March 2011

Airports Authority of India, Hqrs, New Delhi has conveyed Airport Economic Regulatory Authority Appellate Tribunal (AERAAT) Order dated 9th Feb, 2011, thereby conveying the approval to levy of “User Development Fee” (UDF) at Trivandrum Airport.

In view of the above it is decided to levy UDF @ Rs 575/- (Rupees Five hundred and Seventy Five only) per embarking international passenger at Trivandrum Airport w.e.f. 1st March 2011.

The UDF rate is inclusive of Service tax and collection charges.
Special counters will function at Trivandrum Airport from 1st March, 2011 to facilitate the Air Passenger who have booked their ticket in advance but not paid/included the UDF in their ticket, to pay UDF at the airport.

The following are exempted from payment of UDF.

  1. Infants, i.e., those persons who are travelling on Infants tickets issued by the airlines;
  2. Holders of Diplomatic Passport;
  3. Airlines crew on duty;
  4. Persons travelling on official duty on aircraft operated by Indian Armed Forces;
  5. Transit/transfer passengers (less than 6 hours stay at the Airport.);
  6. Passengers departing from Trivandrum Airport due to involuntary re-routing, i.e., technical problems or weather conditions etc.;
  7. Passengers travelling in Domestic Sector on international flights from the NITB.

The Air passengers intend to Depart through New International Terminal Building, Trivandrum Airport, may note the above and co-operate with Airports Authority of India for the payment of UDF for implementation of the Government decision.
