Date: 8 Aug 2010
With increased flights from Oman Air to Salalah, more and more people are able to visit the verdant city of Salalah, and also take part in the festivities of the Salalah Tourism Festival.
Oman Air is the Diamond Sponsor and Official Carrier of the ongoing Salalah Tourism Festival, which is considered one of the premier events in the region. The national carrier of the Sultanate is attracting great attention from a large number of visitors to its spot at the Municipality Fair Ground, as it highlights its valued services and products at the Festival. Those visiting Oman Air’s stand can even purchase tickets and confirm their reservations there and then.
The Salalah Tourism Festival, which coincides with the annual monsoon season, is a big attraction to Western visitors. Tourists from Germany, UK, France and further afield come to Salalah during this period, though the vast majority of the tourists are from Oman, the rest of the GCC and the Middle East.
To meet the increased demand for the Salalah destination, Oman Air added extra capacity to ease the travel plans of the passengers. Currently, the carrier operates six flights a day between Muscat and Salalah.
Maitha Al Mahrouqi, Country Manager, Oman, Oman Air says:
“Oman Air is committed to promoting Oman’s potential as an ideal destination for niche travellers. Its geographical versatility makes it stand apart from the rest of the Middle East, and Salalah is an excellent example of this. With its fame spreading far and wide, there is an unprecedented increase in the number of visitors to Salalah. Oman Air is providing extra flights to Salalah to cope with the increased demand largely from Omani families as well as visitors from GCC countries and beyond. Customer accessibility is extremely important to us, and Oman Air understands the importance of doing the utmost to deliver a great customer experience.”
Oman Air operated its brand new A 330/200 aircraft to Salalah on the 29th and 31st July and more recently on the 6th and 7th of August, offering passengers an opportunity to enjoy and experience the most-talked-about product in the airline industry.
