Oman Air Achieves Record Breaking Milestone
For the first time in it’s history, Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, carried over one million passengers within a year. From January to November, 2005 the airline carried a total of 1,025,729 passengers; a record breaking achievement. This compares with 894,192 passengers for the same period last year.
Mr. Ziad Karim Al Haremi, Oman Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer said, “At the onset, I would like to thank our valuable customers for their patronage. Indeed, it is their continuous support and feedback that has enabled us to achieve this milestone. The fact that we were able to cross the one million mark in November when we had expected this to happen in December, is certainly very encouraging and is indicative of Oman Air’s popularity amongst the traveling public.”
Mr. Al Haremi added, “Bearing in mind the feedback we receive from our customers, we constantly try to enhance our product so that flying with Oman Air is a seamless, enjoyable experience. To this end, we have embarked on a product enhancement exercise the objective of which is to look very closely at all aspects of the flying experience, topped with a reward scheme specific to Oman Air passengers.”
Oman Air currently operates a fleet of modern New Generation Boeing 737 aircraft and operates to a total of 16 destinations including Muscat, Salalah and Khasab in Oman, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait in the Gulf, Mumbai, Cochi, Chennai, Trivandrum, Delhi and Hyderabad in India, Dar es Salaam in East Africa, Beirut and Cairo.
