Oman Air participated as a golden sponsor to The Oman International Environmental Tourism Conference
Oman Air has participated as a golden sponsor to The Oman International Environmental Tourism Conference organised by the Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources Ministry in cooperation with the Tourism Ministry. The event was held with the participation of the United Nations Environment Programme, the World Tourism Organisation, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and the UNESCO.
Recommendations arrived at the conference, included enhancing international efforts to support environment safety and preserve its natural resources in order to achieve sustainable tourism industry, stimulating national and regional policies and legislations to develop environmental tourism, enhancing the partnership between the public and private sectors and the civil society to promote, market and administer environmental tourism according to sustainability regulations, working towards ensuring a balance between investment in environmental tourism field and sustainable development plans, drafting objective economic assessment mechanisms of natural resources and how to utilise them and undertaking required measures to curb the negative impact of non-sustainable environmental tourism.
