Oman Air Inaugurates New Mashhad Service

Date: 01 June 2016 A major gala dinner was this week the centrepiece of Oman Air’s celebrations of its inaugural flight between Muscat and the Iranian city of Mashhad. The first flight took place on 1st June and was followed the next day by a well-attended morning press conference. And in the evening, Oman Air’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President Commercial, Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy, hosted a sumptuous dinner to which VIPs and senior representatives from the aviation authorities of both Oman and Iran were invited.

Oman Air And Menzies Aviation Plan Partnership For Ground Handling At Omani Airports

Date: 31 May 2016 Oman Air and Menzies Aviation have today taken a major step toward forming a joint venture partnership which will provide ground handling services at all airports across Oman. The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding confirming their intention to work together. They will now enter a period of due diligence and focus on regulatory requirements, with the aim of forming the joint venture within the last quarter of 2016.

Oman Air Introduces A330s On Doha Route

Date: 29 May 2016 Oman Air is to introduce its award-winning Airbus A330-200 aircraft to the hugely popular Muscat to Doha service. From 1st June, the A330s will operate every Sunday (WY670), Monday (WY670) and Tuesday (WY664) as part of the airline’s schedule of four daily flights to Qatar’s capital city.

Oman Air Launches Daily Flights To Mashhad

Date: 25 May 2016 Oman Air is to launch a brand-new service between Muscat and the Iranian city of Mashhad from 1st June 2016. This is Oman Air’s second destination in Iran, following the launch of flights to Tehran in 2012. The carrier will operate daily flights aboard Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Oman Air Wins Four Categories At The Oman Tech Awards

Date: 16 May 2016 Oman Air has won four prestigious awards at the first Oman Tech Awards, held in Muscat on 2nd May. The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman won the E-Commerce award in the Websites category, the Travel and Tourism award in the Apps category, and the Government award in the Social Media category, in recognition of Oman Air’s Facebook page. The airline also won a Special Award for Best Social Media Campaign of the Year, following the success of its National Day campaign in November 2015.

Date: 09 May 2016 Recruitment Open Days See A Huge Turnout. Oman Air and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) are joining forces to provide career development training for 500 Omani staff of Oman Air. As part of this initiative, an Open Day was organized between 08.00 and 18.00 on 8th May at the Golden Tulip hotel in Muscat, which saw a massive turn out of prospective candidates. Through various recruitment procedures, 120 Ramp Services recruits were selected to receive intensive training, for four different Ramp Services positions within Oman Air.

Oman Air flight experiences burst tyres following landing at Abu Dhabi: no injuries reported

Date: 28 April 2016 Oman Air flight WY 635, a Boeing 737 – 800 flying from Muscat to Abu Dhabi, has experienced two burst tyres while landing at Abu Dhabi. The incident occurred on Wednesday 27th April, at 2107 local time. Thanks to the professionalism of the well trained crew, no further discomfort was experienced by the guests on board.
