Outstanding achievements in numbers of passengers carried by Oman Air during the month of July 2005
In an unprecedented achievement since operation in 1993, Oman Air exceeded, during the month of July 2005 the ceiling of 103,870 passengers (old record) in one month, by actually carrying 110,662 passengers. This is added to the other outstanding achievements in passenger traffic during the first seven months of 2005, where Oman Air operated 7534 flights and carried a total of 618,207 passengers, thus raising the seat factor to 76%.
In a statement made by Mr. Ziad Karim Al Haremi he said that the successive increase in passenger percent carried and this achievement in July came as a result of rescheduling some of Oman Air flights by increasing or decreasing some flights, re-routing or change of timings for others. By implementing the summer schedule, since beginning of June 2005, with direct flights at convenient timings to any of Oman Air’s 19 destinations we look forward to achieve more accomplishments in numbers of flights and passengers and we target to exceed the limit of one million passengers by the end of this year.
Mr. Ziad added that the policies and work plans approved by Oman Air succeeded in fulfilling several of the objectives that aim to modernize and improve performance of the Company by optimally investing in the available resources. The new B 737 NG aircrafts have tremendously contributed in achieving several ambitions of the Co. by providing best services to our valued customers, expanding Oman Air’s network and achieving highest on time performance. In their endeavours to make Oman Air’s services go parallel with its ambitious commercial plan, the management team has contracted to introduce several new systems and programs including e-ticketing and internet booking provided by Sabre, an international renowned Co. specialized in airline reservations.
Mr. Al Haremi stressed that Oman Air since its establishment in 1993 as a regional carrier has witnessed tremendous expansions both in structure and performance. It played a fundamental role in promoting air transport to and from the Sultanate of Oman, where the numbers of multicultural passengers increased during the years and hence recognized as one of the best regional airlines. Oman Air, being famous for its deep-rooted Omani hospitality, is proud to provide to its esteemed customers the warm welcome and utmost care they deserve. It now became fully prepared and determined to go into the future with a modern vision supported by the genuine Omani traditions and culture.
