Oman Air Unveils Its New Corporate Identity

In a huge celebratory to be held at Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa Muscat today Saturday under the auspices of His Excellency Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, minister of national economy and deputy chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council, Oman Air the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, will unveil its new corporate identity which is expected to represent warmth, creativity and energy.

Ziad bin Karim Al Haremi, CEO of Oman Aviation Services (Oman Air) said that the new identity would project the airline’s transformation into a world-class airline. The airline has vigorously rejuvenated itself as a major carrier in the region. He notified that the new corporate identity is considered a defining milestone in the process of change, making the brand more relevant to global markets, also match with customers in international markets. It reflects the spirit of flying, transparency in operations and cutting-edge efficiency in service. The new corporate image to be unveiled today will enhance and add value, reflecting the élan of flying, friendliness and warmth the airline will ensure in its day-to-day operations.

Reflective of its creative, vibrant, and innovative personality, the new logo of Oman Air accurately reflects the reality of the company as a breakaway brand that will bring international best practices to the regional aviation sector he stated. The new identity colours represent growth and resilience, furthermore Oman Air commitment to deliver a fresh experience to air travelers in the world. He explained that the move comes at a time of extensive growth and development for the company and emphasizes the fast-evolving portfolio of Oman Air globally .The new corporate identity will highlight the message that Oman Air appeals to both leisure and business travelers, while simultaneously underlining the ever-increasing importance of leisure travel within the market. The decision to revitalize the brand identity is testament to Oman Air global growth. Oman Air is The national carrier’s mission is to connect the world to the Sultanate of Oman. The new identity he added will convey that Oman Air is on the cutting edge of rapidly changing industry scenario and technology.

Oman Air Corporate Communications And Media briefed that Oman Air, which commenced operations in 1993 as a regional player, has played a major role in making Muscat a major traffic hub in the Middle East providing a fillip to commercial, industrial and tourism activities. As a full-fledged commercial airline of Oman, Oman Air has striven to maintain high performance standards in all aspects of its operation they said. The Company fleet will consist of 12 Boeing 737-800 Aircrafts (By end Jan 2009), 7 Airbus A330 Aircrafts (Mix of dash 300 & dash 200) with deliveries starting in 2009 and, commitment to some 6 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Oman Air would be the first airline in the Gulf region to undergo such move to obtain the Dreamliner aircrafts, which are expected to be delivered to the carrier in 2012, 2014, and 2015 CC&M notified. 

Muscat to 25 destinations

It is noteworthy that Oman Air is currently flying from Muscat to 25 destinations. Ten destinations in the Middle East: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Beirut, Cairo, and Amman. Also to 10 destinations in the Indian subcontinent: New Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad, Lucknow and Jaipur; Karachi in Pakistan, Chitagong in Bangladesh, in addition to London in Europe and Bangkok in the Far East,as well as, three internal destinations: Muscat, Salalah and Khasab.
