Oman Air Adds Kathmandu to its Expanding Network

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has announced the launch of services between Muscat, the Omani capital, and Kathmandu, in Nepal, from 2nd September 2010.

Kathmandu is the 40th destination in the Oman Air network and will be operated with B737-700 aircraft, offering Business and Economy Class cabins.

Peter Hill, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, says:

"Oman Air is delighted to add the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu to its network. Kathmandu is a much-awaited destination and Oman Air would like to offer its customers in the region the opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world.

"Furthermore, in addition to the strong demand for flights from Nepalese nationals who work in Oman and further afield, we expect to see significant corporate and leisure traffic, which is important to the economic development of Nepal. Oman Air is pleased to support this growth with its new services."

Oman Air will operate four flights a week to Kathmandu, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing Muscat at 11.40 and arriving at Kathmandu at 17.05 (local time), and departing Kathmandu at 18.05 and arriving at Muscat at 20.45 (local time).

These timings will offer useful connections to other destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai in the UAE, as well as to a range of other GCC and European destinations.
