Oman Air Stops Flying Over Of Iraq

Date: 11 August 2014 As a precautionary measure, and in consideration of the ongoing conflict in the area, Oman Air confirmed that it has re-routed its flights to and from the airline’s home base of Muscat to avoid flying over Iraqi territory. As a result of Oman Air’s avoidance of Iraqi air space, passengers to and from European destinations and Beirut are advised that flight times may be slightly extended and they are advised to check with their local Oman Air offices to see whether their departure times have been affected. The move comes as a result of Oman Air’s continuous review of its flight paths and follows earlier confirmation that none of its flights have passed through Ukrainian air space since April 2014.

Date: 3 August 2014 Oman Air has further expanded the choice and convenience that it offers customers by enhancing the range of booking options on its newly-designed website at www.omanair.com, and by making its web check-in service even easier to use. The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman now offers more choice of fares for every sector on its website, and customers can also view fares for their selection of cabin class, as well as those of a higher cabin class, in a single view. In addition, fare rules are now displayed with a simple roll-over of the customer’s mouse, making the choice of fares simpler than ever, and a new feature enables customers to pre-reserve seats at the time of booking.

Oman Air Launches Flights To New Duqm Airport

Date: 22 July 2014 Oman Air is set to start serving the new Omani regional airport at Duqm. The service will commence as the new airport opens on 23rd July and will consist of four flights per week, operating Oman Air’s acclaimed Embraer E175 aircraft. The Oman Air flights into the new airport will be marked with a celebration organised and hosted at Duqm by the city’s Special Economic Zone Authority and attended by the media, high level dignitaries and officials from the Government of Oman and senior managers from Oman Air.

Oman Air Signs Heavy Maintenance Agreement With Joramco

Date: 15 July 2014 Oman Air has signed a new deal with JorAMCo to provide the Omani national carrier with base maintenance services for two Embraer 175 and three Airbus A330 aircraft in its fleet. The maintenance checks are planned to take place between May and November this year. The move continues a collaborative effort between the two companies, with JorAMCo successfully accomplishing similar checks to two additional Oman Air Embraers last year. Date: 9 July 2014 Oman Air has appointed Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy to the position of Chief Operating Officer. The airline’s Commercial, Network Planning, and Strategy and Business Development divisions will report to Mr Al Busaidy, who took up his post on 1st July.
