Oman Air Appoints New General Manager Customer Services

Date: 26 Dec 2011 Oman Air has announced the appointment of Saleem Bin Amanullah Bin Abdul Hussain to the new role of General Manager Customer Services. He will be based at the airline’s headquarters in Muscat and will spearhead Oman Air’s drive for the highest quality in all direct customer contact. Mr Amanulla was appointed following a 23-year career in aviation, most recently as Chief Executive Officer – Cargo for RAS-ENT, a Canadian GSA based in Toronto. Prior to this, he held a number of positions with Gulf Air, including Head of Airports. In addition, Mr Amanulla holds Airline Pilot and Flight Dispatch certification from AFDTC in Dallas. Oman Air Unveils its Newest Business Class Lounge at Bangkok International Airport

Date: 6 October 2009 Oman Air's brand new, much-anticipated First Class Mini Suite is launched this week, together with new Business and Economy class seats, menus and uniforms, when the airline's new three-class Airbus A330-300 is unveiled. Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, the first A330-200 in Oman Air's livery flew over from Toulouse, arriving at Seeb International Airport, Muscat, later today. Configured in a very comfortable two-class layout, the aircraft provides space for 216 passengers, including 20 business class seats and 196 economy class seats. The three-class service will be introduced to a range of routes across Europe and Asia, including non-stop direct flights between Muscat and London Heathrow.

Oman Air Launches New Muscat to Zurich Service

Oman Air Orders Rolls-Royce Engines for New Boeing 787 Order

Date: 16 Nov 2011 Oman Air has ordered Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines to power the six Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft it just ordered. The airline is the first in the Middle East to select the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine, which last month powered the first 787 Dreamliner into service.

Order increases Boeing's 787 customer base in Middle East Date: 14 Nov 2011 Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Oman Air, the Sultanate of Oman's flagship carrier, today announced an order for six Boeing 787-8s at the Dubai Airshow. The airline completed an arrangement with Boeing and Kuwait-based leasing company ALAFCO to transfer existing orders for the six Dreamliners from ALAFCO to Oman Air.
