Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has been nominated in the ‘Middle East’s Leading Airline’ category of the prestigious World Travel Awards 2010. More than a thousand of the Middle East's greatest travel companies are battling it out to be winners of the coveted event that takes place at The Address, Dubai Marina on Monday 3 May, just before The Arabian Travel Market.
Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman will launch on May 2nd its services between Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman, and Ras Al Khaimah, in the UAE. The carrier offers passengers daily flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Muscat. With the introduction of Ras Al Khaimah, Oman Air marks its 34th destination worldwide and the third in the United Arab Emirates, the other two being Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
With the summer heat slowly soaring high, right now is the perfect time to head to Salalah for a fabulous getaway. Salalah, with its salubrious weather conditions, is an ideal destination not far from Muscat, and making it even more convenient for the discerning travellers are the special offers from Oman Air Holidays.
The fifth month of the year will see Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, open five new destinations to its rapidly expanding network. The first one is Kuala Lumpur, the colourful capital city of Malaysia which will be inaugurated on the 1st of May, with four weekly flights between Muscat and Kuala Lumpur. With this addition, Oman Air will mark its 33rd destination and the second one in the Far East, the other being Bangkok. The other four destinations to be opened in May are Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain, Islamabad and Lahore....
Oman Air has appointed Ejaz Khan as the Regional Manager - Gulf, Middle East & Africa based in Muscat. A highly motivated, results-oriented and energetic individual who leads his team through today’s business challenges, Ejaz has over 28 years progressive experience in international sales, customers’ service and airport operations in Aviation industry in various parts of Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, having worked with the leading European and regional airlines. Prior to this posting he was working as Country Manager for Oman Air in Pakistan based in Karachi.
Oman Air has appointed Don Hunter as Chief Officer, Airport Operations. Don has spent the last 41 years in aviation, of which 19 years with Cathay Pacific Airways where his responsibilities included running both airport and ground handling subsidiaries in Hong Kong and also Cathay’s commercial operation in South Africa. Don also spent 4 years with Virgin Atlantic, heading their Airport Services department, responsible for Virgin’s 31 airports worldwide. Most recently, he held the position of Vice President with Dnata, both in Dubai and the Philippines.
Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman, recently sent, 15 new Ab-initio Pilot Trainees to attend a Pilot Training Program with the Royal Melbourne Institute Of Technology in Victoria, Melbourne, Australia and 8 engineering trainees to Air Service Training Ltd Perth, Scotland.
