Oman Air Joins IATP Association

Oman Air is pleased to announce that it has joined the International Airlines Technical Pool Association. Made up of over 100 member airlines, and about 30 suppliers including aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus and Boeing with over 400 members from the aviation industry on its roll, IATP gather twice yearly to discuss sharing of resources, reducing costs, while improving operating efficiency.

Oman Air Renews Its IOSA Certification

The existing image of Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman that announced recently its expansion plans, has received a boost with the successful completion of renewing its IOSA registration.

The renewal is an outcome of the IOSA audit the Airline underwent, whereby the Carrier remains among the airlines which reached this internationally recognized standard, after a thorough evaluation in all areas of organization and management system, flight operation, operational control, flight dispatch, aircraft engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, aircraft ground handling, cargo operation and operational security.

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman will fly to four more destinations in Europe and Asia in 2009.

Mr. Peter Hill, Oman Air’s Chief Executive Officer said “August marks the commencement of our wide body fleet acquisition plan when we take delivery of the first of seven brand new Airbus A330 aircraft. We will operate non stop flights from our base in Muscat to Frankfurt and Paris in the west and eastbound to Colombo and Male.

With the introduction of these services we will be providing a massive increase in capacity from Europe to Oman, designed to boost the Country’s rapidly growing appeal to the discerning traveler....
