Oman Air Adds A New Dimension To Charity

Oman Air, fulfilling its role of a Socially Responsible Corporate Entity has tied-up with the 'Association of Early Intervention for Children with Special Needs' bringing them the much-needed support.

Mealtime will soon turn into charity time at Oman Air flights. In every Oman Air flight, placed atop the meals tray served to passengers, will be a specially-designed envelope, which passengers can use to drop their change. The proceeds from this will accordingly be handed over to the Association of Early Intervention for Children with Special Needs.

Oman Air Proceeds With Training Young Omani Cadres. 13 Traffic Assistants to Muscat International Airport

A further group of 13 young Omanis successfully completed their requisite training programme in the Ground Operations Department of Oman Air, and is now fully qualified to operate as Traffic Assistants at Muscat international Airport. This is the second batch of Ground Handling staff that is trained this year.

Spectacular images showcasing Oman in the United Kingdom form part of a major new marketing campaign by Oman Air and the Ministry of Tourism.

Oman Air Offering Live Satellite TV Onboard Long Haul Fleet

Oman Air has selected Rockwell Collins' Tailwind 560 in-flight TV system for its fleet of seven Airbus A330s with delivery starting July 2009. The Tailwind 560 is the only proven and certified multi-region Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) airborne TV system available for the air transport market. The system will be available for live viewing both on the ground and at altitude; furthermore its multi-directional antenna will enable a continuous signal from Direct Broadcast Satellites, regardless of the aircraft's location or direction. With this system, Oman Air passengers will have the opportunity to access a selection of live TV programming across multiple regions, at 35,000 feet.
