Outstanding achievements in numbers of passengers carried by Oman Air during the month of June 2005

In an unprecedented achievement since operation in 1993, Oman Air exceeded, during the month of June 2005 the ceiling of 100,000 passengers in one month, by actually carrying 103,870 passengers. This is added to the other outstanding achievements in passenger traffic during the first six months of 2005, where Oman Air operated 6332 flights and carried a total of 506,545 passengers, thus raising the seat factor to 76%.

Oman Air stops Flights to Zanzibar Airport 19 July 2005

Mr. Ziad Karim Al Haremi announced that effective Tuesday 19 July 2005 and till further notice, Oman Air, the National Carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, shall stop all scheduled flights to Zanzibar International Airport. Oman Air will continue to operate non-stop flights to Dar-es-salam.

He added that due to this unexpected emergency situation, Oman Air regrets to its valued passengers any inconvenience that may be caused and the same time assures Oman Air commitment to safeguard the passenger’s liabilities.

Mr. Al Haremi confirmed that Oman Air shall take any measures that help to eliminate the impact of this decision. Such measures include the possibility of refunding the price of the issued ticket or providing transportation from Zanzibar to Dar-es-salam for which Oman air operates 5 weekly scheduled flights.

In an unprecedented achievement since operation in 1993, Oman Air exceeded, during the month of July 2005 the ceiling of 103,870 passengers (old record) in one month, by actually carrying 110,662 passengers. This is added to the other outstanding achievements in passenger traffic during the first seven months of 2005, where Oman Air operated 7534 flights and carried a total of 618,207 passengers, thus raising the seat factor to 76%.

Oman Air does it again!

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, achieved record passenger uplift during the months of June, July and August 2005. The highest figures were recorded in August where the airline carried a total of 122,764 passengers at an impressive seat factor of 80%. This was despite the fact that the total number of flights operated during the 3 months was 3407 compared to 3664 last year.

Mr. Ziad Al Haremi, Oman Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer said “Oman Air has beaten previous records this summer and we are very pleased with the results. Embedded in our strategy is the objective of providing quality services. We are committed to ensuring that our standards of safety, reliability and punctuality are never compromised. I am pleased to report that our on time performance during the summer months was maintained at almost 80%.”
